This hotel comes very highly recommended for discerning individual travellers.
This hotel is located right in the centre of Reykjavik on one of the main shopping streets.
The rooms vary in size due to this traditional building's age, but on average they are medium-sized. They are in very good condition, with mostly neutral colour schemes offset by floral pattern soft furnishings. Occasionally the rooms can be a little noisy on the weekends, as the restaurant sometimes has lively parties which can run on into the small hours.
This is a traditional building with a white and pale grey facade. It stands out amongst its rather more functional neighbours.
The restaurant is well known locally and a great spot for an aperitif or an afternoon coffee.
The lobby is actually on the first floor, so upon entering the hotel guests should climb one flight of stairs before checking in.
