The hotel is located just above the village of Engelberg. It is situated in its own beautiful park, providing a peaceful location. The hotel has its own little rack railway which has been retired and is no longer in use. An example of the carriage can be seen outside the hotel. There is a new drop off point for coach clients and newly built escalator (to be finished in December 2008) to the hotel to transport guests and their luggage up to the hotel from a coach parking area in the village, since the road up to the hotel is too narrow for coaches.
The rooms vary in size from small to medium. Some twin rooms have the beds in line rather than side by side due to the shape of the room. Rooms have modern furniture and are in good condition, as are the bathrooms. Most rooms have balconies with views over Engelberg and the surrounding mountains.
This is a grand, traditional building.
The restaurant is large and airy, with a wooden floor.
The lobby is large, with marble pillars and a tiled floor. It has modern, iron cushioned seats and small tables scattered around, with large windows to the front.
