This Pousada was once a Cistercian monastery, and it is the perfect starting point for wanderings through the Minho verde region. Braga, a few kms away is currently considered one of the "loveliest" european towns, and its youthful high spirits are a stark contrast to the strict religious traditions which take place during the holy week.

In contrast with the exterior and corridors the rooms are welcoming; equipped with the latest facilities and wonderful views from their wide windows.

Is the result of the restoration of a former Cistercian monastery, one of the most characteristic of the Portuguese architecture. In accordance with the monastic severity, but with a comfortable and modern decoration. Two storey building, heavy blocks of stone form its exterior facade supported by sequences of arches in the interior cloister.

Among the delicious dishes, the regional ones deserve to be emphasised-codfish topped with corne bread, stewed chunks of pork loin, regional puddings.

Modestly decorated, plain walls and sober furniture. Medium in size.
