Strategically built in the seventeenth century, beside the lighthouse of Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, the iconic building keeps his noble and solid stance, and has become the natural guardian of one of the most beautiful scenics and refuges of Portugal including the beautiful Guincho beach and the hills of Sintra Natural Park.
All the rooms are courtyard views, elegantly decorated, all with private facilities, air-conditioning, satellite television, mini-bar, telephone, hair-dryer, safe and internet access. They have no terrace.
The hotel is a 17th century fortress, fully renovated. Near the Hotel, are some of the best Spa and golf courses in the country with which we have agreements advantageous for our customers, and also tennis and surf lessons, bike tours, picnics in the countryside.
Restaurant Fortaleza do Guincho was opened in 1998, as the Hotel, with the same name. French Chef Antoine Westermann, who was awarded with three Michelin stars, had the responsibility for defining the philosophy of the kitchen, along with Vincent Farges, the Executive Chef. In 2001 the restaurant, with a strong influence of French haute cuisine, won its first Michelin star. Currently, it has strong national influences and is made on the basis of the best Portuguese products, such as fish and shellfish from the Portuguese coast.
