The Estalagem is the oldest hotel in Obidos and has lots of character and it is ideal for a weekend away in the lovely medieval town of Obidos

The hotel is located next to the entrance to the walled city of Obidos and it is surrounded by traditonal buildings with white outer walls with blue edges. The Estalagem used to be a monastery and its construction dates back to the medieval time .

The bedrooms are large and traditonally decorated and they have kept the original furnishings belonging originally to the nuns. the beds are Cast iron framed and there are hand painted furnitures.
They all have private facilities, direct dial telephone and television.

Tradtional style building

The restaurant is an extention of the building but built and decorated in harmony to the rest of the building ie. The medieval ceiling and pillars made of fine sandstone. The cuisine is traditonal and very well presented and served a wide choice of wines

The lobby and reception area are very small but cosy, the decoration has kept many of the original features of this lovely building such as the low ceilings and the large wooden beams on the ceiling very well preserved and still is full use. He colour scheme and the furnishings are traditional. The floors are in ceramic floors and wooden carved furnishings.
